Bradley Whitford calls out Cheryl Hines for staying 'silent' while RFK Jr. supports Donald Trump

Bradley Whitford has spoken out about "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Cheryl Hines' support of her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as he endorses Donald Trump for president.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Whitford, 64, addressed Hines directly: "Hey @CherylHines, great job staying silent while your unhinged husband backs the man found liable for sexual abuse who boasts about stripping women of their rights."

Whitford's comments reference Trump, who has faced over a dozen sexual misconduct accusations and was found liable for sexual abuse and defamation against E. Jean Carroll in a civil trial last year, though the jury did not conclude he raped her in 1996.

The Emmy-winning actor from "The West Wing" and "The Handmaid's Tale" added: "Real gutsy. Wonderful example for the kids. Truly a profile in courage."

His message was posted alongside a video from Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign, featuring Trump thanking the Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.

Whitford's criticism came just one day after Robert F. Kennedy Jr.—nephew of President John F. Kennedy and son of former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy—announced he was exiting the race and endorsing Donald Trump.

Following Kennedy's announcement, Cheryl Hines took to social media to praise the hard work of her husband’s campaign staff. However, she did not endorse any candidate or political party herself.

"Over the past year and a half, I’ve had the privilege of meeting extraordinary people from all parties—Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. My experience has shown that the vast majority of people, regardless of party, are genuinely good and want the best for our country and each other," she wrote.

Kennedy responded to her post with a message of his own: "I am deeply thankful to my incredible wife Cheryl for her unwavering love, even as I made a political decision that makes her uncomfortable. I wish the same for our nation—love and unity despite disagreement. We’ll need it in the times ahead."

Whitford has been an outspoken supporter of Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign, frequently sharing anti-Trump content on social media.

Meanwhile, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s endorsement of Donald Trump has drawn backlash from his own family. His sister, Kerry Kennedy, along with four other family members, issued a statement condemning his decision, saying, "Our brother Bobby’s endorsement of Trump is a betrayal of the values our father and our family hold dear. This is a sad conclusion to a sad story."

In response, Kennedy acknowledged the family rift during an interview on "Fox News Sunday," saying, "I understand their concern with my choices, but we should all be able to disagree and still love one another."
